Course Overview

  • How to conduct oneself at the table and in public places.

  • 8-Week Children Etiquette Course

1. Posture & Walking
Correct posture when standing and walking. Proper head, hand and foot positions

In this class, participants will learn how to meet and greet people with confidence and introduce others appropriately.

Sitting properly in chairs; hand and foot positions. Climbing & descending stairs. Entering & exiting cars, squatting and bending.

Meeting people for the first time; Introductions & How Do You Do’s, direct eye contact, verbal and non-verbal communication, The hand shake.

Handling the utensils: knife, fork and spoon. Learning how to set the table and fold table napkins. Manners at the table and participation in a Three Course Meal dining experience.

Phone manners, answering the phone and taking messages, handling emergencies and safety, use of the phone and courtesies.

Social Courtesies, thank you notes, showing respect to others, helping others.

Children learn how to manage personal hygiene and why it is important. The basics of good hygiene – washing of face, hands, and feet including brushing teeth, and more are emphasized.

Exams

To earn your Children/Youth Etiquette certificate, you must pass the class/course exam. You can take the Children/Youth Etiquette exam online. When you have completed this class/course, you will be ready to start getting ready for the Children/Youth Etiquette exam. Before taking the exam, it will be a good idea to make sure that your device meets the technical requirements. Confirm that your computer is suitable for your webcam, microphone and internet connection.
